Our “Celebrate Spring” Fairy Tea Party.

by Alison on April 11, 2010 · 1 comment

What a glorious day it was today! We picked the perfect Sunday afternoon to host a ’fairy tea party’ toddler style. There was glorious warm sunshine… and best of all — lots of darling pixies! It was utterly enchanting, and I can’t think of a better way to welcome spring then with a Fairy Tea Party.

I kept decor budget friendly and to a minimum, adding some greenery and ribbons to the chandelier, as well as affixing a pixie we already had to the top.  Add in some fresh flowers, crystal candle holders, framed fairy poem and table decor was minimal but effective and pretty.

I kept food simple: cream cheese and jam star shaped sandwiches for the litttle pixies, toddler trail mix(just a mix of toddler bites: cheddar bunnies, chocolate teddygrahams, cheerios, etc) parmeson breadsticks, veggies and dip, fruit skewers and an assortment of deserts.  Tea and coffee was served for the adults.

It was so glorious outside we decided to take the darlings out for some sunshine and exploring.  They loved it and frolicked in the lawn looking just like the fairies they were depicting.  We all went camera crazy getting adorable shots of our little ones.

We have lots of little pathways on our acreage, which my little gal knows very well.  Its been her favourite thing to do as of late — exploring the beautiful world just outside her doors.

I loved this photo of one of the guests Isabella playing in the ‘fairy garden’ we created last year.  While the ‘fairy garden’ was a little ‘destroyed in the storm’ as my hubby put it(when really its just been us neglecting to weed it) — the girls still found it magical and spent a great deal of time exploring it.

Beautiful girls playing in the tall grass. It was so endearing to watch them with their little wings — it really was like watching real fairies! So precious.

Check out Isabella’s hair clip her Mom, Janet, made!  She even had little slippers made to match.  Gorgeous!

Originally, the entire party was for us Moms (and Dads) — but ended up being just as much fun for the little ones.  I just love throwing parties so much that Im all set to do another — Im going to have to brainstorm for something equally fun for the summertime!

Oh, how adorable! Love fairy tea parties! 🙂 That’s the theme we had for my 5 year old’s birthday.
