Deceptively Delicious

by Dani Health on January 31, 2012 · 4 comments

I know that this books has been out for a few years but I finally found time to pick it up and try a few of her recipes.

My son, now 2 years, loved the spaghetti and (turkey) meatballs – made with pureed butternut squash – and the blueberry oat bars – made with pureed spinach.

At first, it seemed a bit time intensive but they were actually very quick and easy to prepare, and we had a lot of healthy leftovers!

Kudos to Mrs Seinfeld! I’m looking forward to trying more of your recipes.

I am a huge fan of the homemade ketchup recipe from this book, since my four year-old son is convinced that ketchup is its own food group! Lol.

It kind of surprises me that a nutritionist would recommend this book. . .which to me is pretty much desserts with pumpkin thrown in. I didn’t think the food was real high quality or worth feeding to my girls to be honest.

I read this book a while back and I love the spinach blueberry bars and the sweet potato pancakes. Even if you are using a store bought mix for things like pancakes, I enjoyed “hiding” food from my kids! LOL!
