As a mother who's baby girl died (Emma July 8, 2003 - November 18, 2003) we need people to not ignore our children. Please don't pretend she wasn't here. Many many people didn't know what to ...

I had this done in June of 2002. I was in and out in 5 hours - off work for 6 days (would have been back sooner but got infection in belly button!). Couldn't (well wasn't supposed to) lift up my son for 6 weeks, but other than that it was a piece of cake. Well coughing really hurt! Good luck and bel...

One thing I forgot to mention NOT to say - please do not ask your friend 'are you going to have another baby?'. Gosh people drove me NUTS! I didn't even have my daughter's ashes back yet and people were asking me that! I mean sure it's one thing to think it because it really is a natural thing to th...

My son has had 3 of them. two when he was approx 16 months old both in one night (these were the first two) - rushed by ambulance both times...then they kept him in for the night. the third one was a year later. He hasn't had one in almost 2 years. The chances for repeat seizures do go up, but they ...

Wookiegirl - sorry to hear about your sister. Man life sucks sometimes doesn't it? I do want to explain myself about the 'don't offer help' comment. My daughter never came home. She spent 1/2 her life at BCCH and 1/2 her life at VGH - every day somebody asked me what they could do to help. I didn't ...

The biggest change I have made is the sleep thing. My son is now 3 months old (well in two days!) and I have never nursed him to sleep He falls asleep on his own. My first son that was the only way he ever fell asleep. Then when I stopped nursing him I held him till he fell asleep and when he went f...

My son at 3 loved any kind of matching game - he is now 4 1/2 and whips me at any matching game.

Snakes and ladders are always fun.

It might help to give him some tylenol...if he is crying like crazy (as you said) he might be in a little bit of pain. My son got his 2 month shots a few weeks ago and I did give him one dose of tylenol not for fever but whenever I laid him to nurse on the side that he got two shots in his leg he cr...

Oh gosh...I know how you feel. I remember when I took my first son to get his shots. Daddy held him (I couldn't) but this meant he was facing me when the needle went it. The look on his face was 'Mommy WHY??!!' I cried...he didn't. It gets easier. I watched my daughter go through 3 heart surgeries, ...

I totally agree that Hungry hipos has no mind stimulating aspects of it which is why sometimes it's perfect. Sometimes kids just need to have a little fun with no obvious learning. Any game teached kids about taking turns, winning and not winning and following directions. I am a true supporter of ed...
