Nose Bleeds

Postby woodsie on Wed Jun 13, 2012 5:54 am

My poor dd 6.5 has been getting nose bleeds for the last couple weeks, started with almost daily to every other day now. We went to the clinic a week ago and the Dr. said it is from allergies, broom pollen most likey, and gave us some nose spray. The nose bleeds still seem to happen, like again this morning. I am wondering if anyone has ever had their child cauterized, which I can imagine would be a most horrible experience.

My had the same problem when he was young....yes he had it cauterized, and that did the trick...he didn't seem to mind it too much.

My little guy was getting them. We use a salt water nose spray every night up his nose followed by a little polysporin or I have been told an oily substance called Rhinaris is good. Prevents the scaps from opening up and allows them to heal. So far so good.....no nose bleeds for the past couple of weeks. I also used a humidifier in his room for part of the night to keep the air moist.

I wonder if vaseline would be ok in nasal passages - maybe check with dr.

My younger sister had cauterizing done when quite young and it didn't seem that eventful.
