Baby in Dire need of formula

Postby mysoncay on Thu Nov 01, 2012 2:38 pm

7 months ago a young mother passed on at Saanich Baptist Church and she left behind her newborn who was taken in by an aunt. The lovely aunt has now also passed on leaving behind her 5 month old!
Is there anyone out there who has unopened cans of formula to feed this baby? Or a few dollars to spare?
Please open your hearts and email me. I will give you the contact info for the pastor of saanich baptist church.
Thank you for giving this some thought and please keep them in your prayers!

Is the Ministry of Children and Family involved? They should be able to offer support.

Who is looking after the baby now and why can't that person afford formula? If this baby is an orphan I'm assuming it must be either with other family or with a foster family and the baby wouldn't be allowed to stay with someone if they can't afford the basic necessities like food. Like a pp said, the Ministry should be contacted and they will arrange for formula to be delivered if the baby is in dire need

OP most formula manufacturers will send out samples, but it would be good to know what type of formula would be needed.

Another idea is to donate formula to the food bank which will hand it out to those who need it.

Well formula is very expensive. I do think though that if this baby is an orphan there would be money for some of his or her basics, like formula. The money would come from the Ministry or an orphans benefit or something. Perhaps the baby is needing more formula then the amount of money they are given?

Has the caregiver of this baby considered using donor milk? You can post a request for donor milk from a healthy nursing mother via Eats on Feets,Human Milk 4 Human Babies and milkshare.org. All you would need to pay for are the milk storage bags that donors ask for. You can find the first two networks on facebook.
