What do you do with your middle-schoolers in summer?

Postby jwilson on Mon Mar 30, 2015 5:50 am

Hi. I am just wondering what other people do with their middle school-aged kids in summer. I will be working most of the summer except for some long weekends. My youngest is 6 so I will sign him up for some day camps. My older two are 12 1/2 and 11 1/2. They don't want to go to camps which is fine because 3 in camps is crazy expensive!
They have looked after themselves but not for such extended periods of time. Do Cadboro Bay or Willows Beach have life guards and do kids hang out on their own?
We have recently moved to James Bay from Vancouver and they go to school in Gordon Head near my work.

Thanks!

I haven't considered letting her not be in camps? She will be almost 12 and can stay home but then I expect it would be TV and video games if she didn't have friends over or go to friends.

Too bad there isn't more pre-teen activities for summers even drop in.
Be a yardstick of quality. Some people aren't used to an environment where excellence is expected.
