Stealing

Postby missmaddysmomma08 on Fri Jun 12, 2015 8:37 pm

Please tell me all kids do this at some point! My almost 7 yr old has been caught twice "stealing" Lego pieces from her babysitters house. She seems really upset she was caught. We made her write a letter tonight to her sitter and she is going there tomorrow to return the 2 pieces and give the letter. Because it's not about the value of the item it's the principle of it. How would you/did you handle it? I've heard that it's a phase and she's just "testing" her boundaries... But that still doesn't make it ok. Help!!

How you're handling it is how I would handle it.

OP

You are handling it wonderfully. I'm sure it is just a stage and with your guidance she'll make it past this stage.

Thanks all! I feel better now. I spoke to my daycare lady too and she assured me that all kids have done it at one point or another and mine isn't a "bad kid".
