Gender nonconforming

Postby LadyAnat on Mon Jul 04, 2016 4:30 pm

My 6.5 yo son has been bullied a lot in school because he likes My Little Pony and Frozen. It's gotten to the point where he won't wear any of his clothes with the characters on it, and he recently ripped his Rarity decal off the van window because he gets made fun of. I've talked to his teachers, principals, and others, and most of the advice seems to be that he has to get used to the fact that not everyone is going to like what he likes. This is !@#$%. People need to stop teaching their kids that certain thing are just for girls or just for boys. I'm feeling really frustrated and alone, as my son must be as well.
Is anyone else out there going through anything similar?
