Stay at home moms - anybody still doing this?

Want to meet with other parents and their kids? Maybe set up a playgroup, or go on a group hike? If so, this is the place to do it. Connect with other parents, let them know what you're planning, and enjoy each other's company.

Stay at home moms - anybody still doing this?

Postby Karen Fielding on Fri Mar 03, 2017 4:50 pm

Hi! I've been a stay at home mom for the last 4 years, and I'm finding most moms have gone back to work by now so it can be hard to entertain a toddler and a 4 year old during the week day with other children in that age range. We live out Happy Valley way and it can take us alllllllllll morning just to get out of the house to go do something. Any ideas for afternoon activities in Victoria/Langford area?

Childsplay 101 website has many activities and programs for toddlers, preschoolers and children. You can search alphabetically for a program or activity (eg: soccer, music, kindergym, playgroup etc).

Also Westshore Rec Centre: Pick up their current Activity Guide or check on-line for their many programs, drop-ins etc.

YM/YWCA in Langford has great children's programs, a lovely swimming pool (including wave pool, and wading/children's pool) and swimming lessons. There are also many children's programs available there.

There is a Gymnastics Centre on the Old Island Highway where Olson's Gym used to be. Great facility with various programs and I believe drop-ins available.
Lion's Pride Gymnastics in Langford has various programs and drop-ins, some of which are in the afternoon.
