what are you reading?

You guessed it, this is a forum all about books. What you're reading now, which ones you like, which ones you don't, and anything else to do with books.

What is the Best of Me about?

I think it was just released in 2011. Just heartbreaking, best way to describe it.
It's mostly about a lost love, the "once in a lifetime" kind of thing, and they are reunited 25 years later. He never moved on and was pining for her all those years, and she got married and had kids but was stuck in an unhappy marriage.
Then they reunited, things got steamy, and then a whole other sequence of events that I won't share. Honestly, I truly was a sobbing mess by the end, it just tugged at my heartstrings. Great book. Be prepared to cry though.

Both books have caught my attention... Went to the bookstore today and bought Fifty shaeds of Grey and next will be Best of Me. I can't make the mistake of buying two or three books at once because then I can't get anything else done with my nose stuck in a book all day waiting to start the next.

CharleneK - web of angels is about a how a woman came to have a multiple personality disorder and how she uses her many personalities to help a teenager girl. Very good.

Also reading Shades of Grey series. It lives up to its hype.

Also read The Sisters Brothers, The Lucky One, Paddy Clarke Ha Ha Ha and Bossypants. All good.

Will be reading Best of Me after I get through Shades.

I recently read the first two books of a trilogy about Marie Antoinette by Juliet Grey. The third is due out in 2013. They were fabulous.
After that I read "Indiscretion" by Jude Morgan which was also really good if you are a Jane Austen fan. My current book is also by him and it's called "A Little Folly" and it looks promising...just started it last night. :-D

I've recently read "The Night Circus" which I thought was amazing! Very vivid imagry, and so fun to put yourself there!
Then I read the Jessica Darling series by Megan MacCafferty. They were meh. Held my interest, but just ok.
After that (true to my profession) I read "The Venice Midwife" and "The Birth House" which were both fun to read in a way that showed how birth and women were treated/viewed back in the day (1700s and early 1900s respectively).

Of all of the books I've read over the summer, I think The Night Circus was my favorite!

Just finished Prisoner of Birth by Jeffrey Archer. It's not a quick read, it's a big book, but it was really good! Going to get some more Jeffrey Archer books after reading that one, he's a great storyteller.
