Looking for ideas - Tudor-era fiction titles

Postby Ivy-Girl on Fri Jun 01, 2012 11:10 pm

I've read a number but the subject is so vast...so I'm looking for KIV'ers recommendations on books about Henry VIII, Elizabeth I, Tudor era stuff to narrow it down a bit...
I like a good historical fiction story, not historical "romance" type of books...
Any suggestions?
TIA :-D

Yay! Another Tudor fan!

Since posting, I've downloaded the novel called "Lady Elizabeth" by Alison Weir. I've read her bio's on Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn which were very good and I've read her novel about Lady Jane Gray (Innocent Traitor) so I really like her.

Jean Plaidy, Margaret Campbell Barnes and Diane Heager (sp) are also ones I've read and enjoyed.

I'd love to hear about some you've read...always looking for other authors/titles/recommendations!! :)

It's not Tudor era historical fiction but have you read Ken Follett's book "Pillars of the Earth"? It takes place in the 12th century and spans over 40 years. I LOVED it. He also wrote a follow up book "A World Without End" which I have yet to read as well as another book "Fall of Giants" which is more recent history and takes place in the early 20th century...I've heard great things about it.
