Help finding run bikes

Postby organic momma on Tue Nov 25, 2008 4:19 pm

We are looking for a wooden one. We have found a number on line but the prices vary a lot so we are trying to find a place that sells them in town so we can check them out.

Either here or in Vancouver,

Please let us know if you know of a place

Thanks

my thrifty solution was just to take the pedals off their regular little metal bike. :) worked great!

Our local shop has the medal ones and we have a bike we could pedal off but this is a "special" fat man gift so we are really hoping to find a wooden one. :-D

Have you called around to the bike shops in town?

DH swears he saw one at a bike shop in town but unfortunately can't remember where.

North Park Bicycle Shop
1725 Quadra Street
Victoria, BC
V8W 2K7
T:250 - 386 - 2453

They sell the wooden Skuut bikes. I'm pretty sure they get a shipment every Thursday and they sell out fast :-D

I believe Sooke Cycle carries the Like A Bike.

http://www.sookebikes.com/products_kids_strollers.php

I'm thinking of one of these for ds' 3rd b-day. I've heard conflicting things about the Skuut but the Like A Bike is cha-ching.

Natural Pod is local.
http://www.naturalpod.com and they have like-a-bikes. They aren't cheap but they are made in Germany.
Skuut is made in China.

Prince lionheart makes wooden run bikes! They have an adorable pink Vespa scooter model at Jamtots on clearance I believe 20%off? It's about $100. Hip baby downtown also carries the wooden PLH run bikes!
Another option is Marty's mountain cycle, they can special order in high end wooden run bikes(the brand escapes me right now!)
Also, mountain equipment co-op, I think they have one on their website.

Sale? Discount you say... I will check them out. The lion heart vespa and the Princess runner are my top two choices. The vespa is 2" taller than the Princess Runner making it my second choice, but I will go take a look. I dont want high end, Im looking for under $150 (the online price shipping incl).
