One thing that is very helpful when MCFD has concerns is for a parent/parents to connect with parenting support and resources. Even if you feel that you are a great parent, it is still seen as a positive move by MCFD.

A few resources are:
Esquimalt Neighbourhood House: Parent Education and support/resources. Their ph: 385-2635 . Located at 511 Constance Ave in Esquimalt.

Parent Support Services: Offer various resources and support. Ph: 384-8042 or email: parentsupport@shaw.ca

Single Parent Resource Centre: Offer many different courses, support and resources. Ph 250 385-1114 Located at 605 Gorge Rd East.

You can also contact your local Public Health Centre and they will provide some resources.

Best of luck to you.

Which office are you dealing with? Do you know about the complaints line? The office of the ombudsman? Child and youth advocate?

If you are living in town to, young parent support line (i think they do 28 years and under) But kim from there is a fantastic support. Beacon community services if you are around sidney...they are helpful too. Seek out as much community support as possible.

I am currently dealing with mcfd as well and we are facing a ton of false allegations. We have been doing everything asked of us and have addressed all the issues in the home but we are having a lot of problems with the social worker. At this point we are clueless about what to do and the lawyer we have is very passive and just seems to agree that we need to just sit back and wait.
Our kids are suffering not being home and are not taking this well.
I am looking for any resources or advice as to how to deal with the mcfd and get my children home.
Thank you for any help anyone can offer

Hey, do you have legal aid? Get a new lawyer, I recommend Jon stewart( he helped get my son home) have you called complaints line, ombudsman, client relations, your workers supervisor? Never talk to a worker without others present and everything documented. Do go to a parenting course or something like young parents as it does help showing your involved with the community.
