I find this rather interesting. From the Victoria animal control
http://www.vacs.ca/wildlife/deceased-animals

"If you find a deceased cat or dog on your own private property within Victoria, Oak Bay, or Esquimalt please call us. We will come and pick up the animal"

"If you find a deceased wild animal on your own private property, you are responsible for disposing of it. If you have appropriate space you can bury it, if not you can put it in a garbage bag and put it in the garbage."

I thought we weren't allowed to put "meat" in our garbage.

Approximately 40 deer were killed by cars in oak bay alone in 2014.
It would be interesting to know how all the dead deer (and other animals) from all the municipalities are disposed of.

Dead animals are treated as garbage due to some could have disease I think.
Composting can be ground down and reused for gardens and such .
I could be totally wrong about this.
If you have property then a lot of people just put back to the earth. It will decompose naturally.
