Tutor Needed grade 7 -West shore area.

Postby owensmum on Mon Mar 02, 2015 4:15 pm

Looking to find a tutor for my son who is currently in Grade 7 and is needing some extra support in Math. There maybe some other subjects needing extra support, but right now looks like Math would be the focus.

We had a tutor for our son from Grade 2 to end of grade 5 but she has retired so looking for someone new.

We are in Colwood area, and we are looking for someone who is flexible with times as my husband works sift work and I am Mon-Friday but not usually home till 4:30/4:45, and perhaps willing to come to the house??

Suggestions? Maybe an on-call teacher??
Thanks,
Candy

I don't have a suggestion for a tutor but we have had a subscription to http://www.mathhelp.com. It is great, whenever one of the kids get stuck on a section they would log in and find the section and they always were able to get the help they needed. This is the first year in many that I have not subscribed as they are both doing really well in math and I think this site is part of the reason.

would you consider a student? My son is currently in Grade 9 advanced math and is getting straight A's. I am not sure he would be interested in tutoring, but he might be. If not him, perhaps another student? You could call the schools in the area and ask for recommendations. Not all are able to instruct :-D

good luck to your son...Math is a tough one and so important to get a good grasp of in the earlier years. I am fortunate - both my boys take after my husband in the math department and not me!
