Driving to Edmonton!

Is it insane to think of doing this first week of November?

I was thinking about doing it in the second week of November but still considering flying as don't know if I am comfortable with driving in the snow/mountains with two little ones.

November is not too bad, especially if you go Jasper, and not Banff. It is not yet frigidly cold, so good all seasons will be ok (from Decemebr to February, actual winter tires are an absolute must). We are supposed to have a long mild autumn across BC and Alberta.

Plan with lots of time so that if you need to stop, you can. Keep your tank topped up (don't go below half a tank). Carry a winter emergency kit.

I have done that drive, as well as Victoria to Saskatoon, at various times of the year, including dead of winter. With some planning, it is not bad at all.
