I don't have a recommendation for you but was wondering what issue the kids have? both my boys were diagnosed with Plantar fasciitis and the specialist we went to said not to spend money on expensive orthotics - especially for kids because their feet grow so fast, but to go to any running store and get 'Super Feet'. They are approx. $45 a pair. definitely worth looking into. I have a brand new pair that I paid $45 for (never used) that I will sell for $30 if interested :-D

They fit men's 5 1/2 - 7 or women's 6 1/2 - 8 you just trim the toe area to fit

I'd agree with Barb.

We spent the big bucks (covered under a plan thank goodness) for some that supposedly would last 2 sizes..(which I wrongly assumed would be 2 years)... but they have a sole of their own overtop..... use those every day for less than a year and not only are they showing wear and tear - but holy the smell  Have them outside and trying to figure out if fixable without tossing :?

Also, if they do have a sudden foot growth, they are used in place of the other sole - so can be a gap by the toe with no sole.

Place I used has new owners (was downtown).

The plain white washable plastic half-sized ones without attached sole that I had for myself once are the only way I will go now and will just use the cheapies for ds until his foot size stabilizes.

Edited to add.... I now spend on good quality shoes so his feet get proper support. He is hard to find shoes for as extra wide feet, but sometimes can find reasonably priced New Balance in his size at Shoe Company online.

Have you gone to your doctor? We were referred through our doctor to the QA. If you have a plan that covers orthotics be sure to check what the plans requirements are: ie only covered if the orthotics are recommended by a podiatrist or only covered if the orthotics are made by a certified technician, etc. Our plans have good coverage but many rules and lifetime limits.
