If you are giving your Child A Mobile Phone for X-Mas

Postby Darren Laur on Fri Dec 04, 2015 7:36 pm

This Christmas, mobile tech that connects to the Internet will be a very common gift found under the tree Christmas day. If you are a parent who is going to give the gift of digital this Christmas, then you need to ensure that you complete our Family Collective Agreement that we are sharing for free to those of the KIV community. Here's the link:

You are so welcome. Information to be useful must be shared !!! I also recommend the following mobile monitoring software especially for youth under the age of 16yrs: Remember our kids have no right to privacy from us parents while they are online, BUT they can earn that right to privacy by showing us parents good digital citizenship/literacy. This can be accomplished via parental participation and communication combined with OVERT not COVERT monitoring !!!!

Android: https://www.netnanny.com/mobile/ or http://www.webwatcher.com/android-monitoring

iphones: https://netsanity.net combined with https://start.uknowkids.com or http://www.webwatcher.com

Thanks Darren. I've downloaded the form.
We're also going to add OpenDNS to help cover all friends' devices that may be brought over to be used on our wifi.

Thank you! Will be making my kids sign this although her friends are telling her that us checking up on her is an invasion of her privacy

Hi Wonderwoman........

Ahhhhh the "invasion of my privacy" argument. Here's an article I wrote on this very topic that when I put it into teen language takes the wind out of this argument:

knowledge and the understanding and application of that knowledge is power !!!!
