Lawyer/Notary Last Will / Power of Attorney

Postby ddhaaron on Mon Oct 02, 2017 10:59 am

Hello all,

I have used the following links to prepare a simply power of attorney / Medical Directive
http://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/healt ... y-planning
and the following to create a simply last will document.
http://mylawbc.com/paths/wills/#

However, I had issues using the power of attorney at a local credit union as it was not "notarized", I don't want to run into future issues or issues with the Last Will not being notarized...

Has anyone had experience using a notary to simply sign/witness a Last Will or Power of Attorney? I have contacted a few and so far told they only sign such estate documents they have prepared which mean $325-$400 dollars just for the last will and likely $150 for the POA.
