The Climate Connect program will run from August 19 - 22 in the Greater Victoria area, with free admission for 15 participants ages 16- 24. The program will run 10 am - 5 pm for the four days and Eli Enns and special guest speakers will be the primary facilitators for the program. Participants are offered ECO Canada issued certificates, and this program supports PPP's RedTide 2020 Indigenous Youth Climate Action Summit to be held on Vancouver Island next year. Participants are encouraged to dress comfortably for doing activities in the outdoors, and that lunch will be provided.
About the program: Our goal is to increase climate literacy and to inspire an agency to become the next wave of changemakers through clean technology, green entrepreneurship, creative arts, and cultural practice. ECO Canada has an enormous amount of Indigenous and climate-focused curriculum, with PPP having the social capital and cooperation skills to engage with youth effectively. Youth will get an education through a cultural and scientific lens about how local and traditional perspectives can aid the understanding of the interconnected factors of climate change.
