The Cascadian Crusaders is a registered non-profit on Vancouver Island where we publish environmental education children’s books and offer environmental education programs all up and down to island, Vancouver and soon Port Angeles, Wa…which will 'hopefully' be our gateway into Seattle, Portland and San Francisco.
Our first book is called The Great Plastic Round-up. It’s an illustrated environmental superhero children’s book about the swirling plastic garbage in the North Pacific Ocean. Some of you might heard about this issue. It’s a pretty devastating problem, so we thought we’d approach it in a fun and creative way so that children don’t feel inundated on yet another environmental disaster, and rather feel inspired and hopeful to be part of a change.
The school programs that we offer are theatrical auditorium performances where we come dressed up in costume as the superheroes and pick up where the book leaves off. After the school performance we go into each of the classrooms and construct a plastic art installation that travels to the next school.
If you'd like to purchase a copy of the book or book us at your school, please contact us.
Thank you, and thank you for caring about our oceans!
