COMMUNITY LANTERN CONTEST
As part of Moon Festival Lantern Celebration we will be offering three (3) prizes of $50 to lanterns created by individuals or community groups and brought to the event! Lanterns should be hand-made, battery-lit and showcase your creativity. They should be portable enough for you to carry with ease to and from the site, and in the community lantern procession around the park at twilight or to stay with you in the field of lanterns while the procession is underway. There is no assistance provided with transportation or setup. Parking is limited so you may wish to come early or create a lantern easy to carry from your parking spot. You are also invited to dress up and illuminate yourself as well! Lantern judging will be done on the night of the event. If you wish to be considered for a prize you will need to provide necessary contact information to the judges. Prize winners will be contacted following the event. Your lantern and all materials must be removed at the end of the night. For more information, please contact Brenda Weatherston at firstname.lastname@example.org or 250 475-5557.
