Looking for respite workers for Children & Youth

Give families a break by spending time with a child/youth with a disability or mental health diagnosis, and provide opportunities for recreation, building socials skills and friendships!
Successful applicants will gain access to Cridge Respite Connect - a secure website where we post job ads for families looking to hire, and profiles for respite care providers looking for work. Respite care providers will have the opportunity to apply directly to families, or be invited to apply by families.
While you will not be employed by The Cridge, you will gain access to a portal that contains job ads by families in the community looking to hire. You will be self-employed, work independently, and have the opportunity to create your own schedule. The wage is negotiated with the individual family as it is contingent on the circumstances and context of the care, but the typical wage is $15 an hour (commensurate with skills and experience).The Cridge Respite Service accepts resumes on a rolling basis.
Requirements: Current First Aid/CPR C and a clean criminal record check with vulnerable sector will be required.
Qualification: Minimum one year experience working independently with children and/or youth with special needs or a mental health diagnoses. Passion for working with children and youth. Creativity and flexibility to cater to individual children's needs and interests. Ability to work independently and take directions from others.
