Waterfront Accommodation in Alert Bay, B.C. – home of the Orca

Alert Bay Lodge is a five room, west coast retreat lying off the pristine north-east coast of Vancouver Island, B.C. Situated on the south shore of Cormorant Island, the lodge overlooks Johnstone Strait, home to the largest population of Orca (killer whales) in western North America. Across the Strait from the Lodge, the Vancouver Island Mountain Range rises from the shores of Vancouver Island, providing a stunning backdrop to our ocean view. The Village of Alert Bay is a ten minute walk away along the ocean road.

Activities include beachcombing, biking, hiking the Big Tree Trail, shopping for local arts and crafts and visiting the U’Mista Cultural Centre.  The Village playground is next door. We also arrange grizzly bear and ocra viewing tours, fishing trips and cultural tours. Great for family reunions – rent the entire lodge for $375 a night. Our family rooms begin at $75 per night. We’re pet friendly and wireless is available.
