Christ Church Cathedral School provides an excellent and inspiring education to children K – grade 8. Ranking among the best schools in our city and rooted in the Anglican tradition, we offer a values-based curriculum accessible to students of all beliefs while nurturing the spiritual, social, physical and intellectual growth of every child. We also run Childcare & Jr. Kindergarten programs in Fairfield and Gordon Head.
Cathedral School was founded in 1989 and is located in a historic building directly behind the beautiful Christ Church Cathedral.
Chorister Scholarships – Music, and choral music in particular, is a crucial part of an Anglican’s DNA. We believe that in the beauty of human creativity through the vehicles of art and music, we are more fully able to glimpse the divine. Potential students may apply for a place at the school as a chorister. Choristers rehearse daily before school and sing occasional weekday services after school. There are no weekend commitments. Choristers receive a $1,000 tuition scholarship to the school, subsidized piano lessons timetabled into their school schedule, and a world-class music education.
The school’s Out of School Care Program is called “Lux Mundi” which means “Light of the World”. It is a before and after-school program for students of the school. We open our program to students from other schools for Spring Break, Summer and Christmas.
Summer Day Camps – Cathedral School’s Summer Program is open to everyone and is full of exciting activities. We have many day trips planned including swimming; fun at local water parks; visits to Beacon Hill Park, Witty’s Lagoon, Fort Rodd Hill, museums and much more. Your child/ren will be cared for by qualified staff with loads of energy and experience who will offer them a safe and closely supervised program.
Connection to Community
CCCS has a very active Outreach Club which raises money for various charitable organizations. Students regularly volunteer in the community, donating fresh produce, non-perishable items, and care packages to those in need. The school’s connection to Christ Church Cathedral provides many partnerships which support the extended community of Victoria.
