Current Canadian National Team coach Kraig Devlin & former BC Team coach Richard Mosdell are proud to announce the opening of their purpose built ‘Kenzen Sports Karate’ high performance training centre, conveniently located in the neighbourhood of Royal Oak .

Kenzen Sports Karate is housed in a purpose built 3860 square foot, full service facility with over 2000 square feet of matted training floor, a 540 square foot strength and conditioning area, plus change rooms and a reception lounge with viewing area.
Kenzen has a flexible class schedule and provides quality instruction within a positive atmosphere to children, youth and adults. Birthday parties, coaching clinics and seminars are also provided.
Together Kraig & Richard bring a high performance, sport-science infused approach to their recreational and competitively focused, all-ages programs.

Whether Kraig is teaching young local students or guiding Team Canada elite athletes at world events, everyone benefits greatly from the experience, knowledge and passion that he brings to his coaching.
A former Canadian National Karate Team athlete who has competitive experience at the provincial, national and international levels, Kraig also chaired Karate Canada’s Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) Committee and was the project lead for the development of Karate Canada’s “Karate of Life” LTAD model and manual.
He worked as a member of Karate Canada’s High Performance Committee for 3 year, filling the role of High Performance Coordinator for that last year. Further, he is one of only five coaches in Canada to have completed the Diploma in High Performance Coaching (Karate) from the Canadian Sport Institute, meaning he is uniquely prepared to guide students from day one to reach their karate goals.

Richard is a former BC Provincial Karate Team coach & BC Team member with many tournament titles, who lived & trained in Japan to earn his 5th degree black belt.
While in Japan, Richard worked as a professional karate coach and child educator at the oldest high school karate club in Tokyo (Seiritsu Gakuen).
He is immersed the the world of karate, having completed his Masters in Global Studies at Sofia University in Tokyo, Japan for his research into the globalization of karate. Currently, he is a doctoral candidate at Tokyo University where he is conducting research into the human-rights related social and cultural effects of karate practise within post conflict war zones.
Richards’s is also a published author who wrote an ongoing English language column in the largest karate magazine in Japan, “JKFan”. He also authored “Sonny Leads”, a Japanese style manga that chronicles the adventures of a 20-something karate athlete who travels to Japan in search of himself and the true meaning of karate.
His wide ranging karate-related experience have prepared Richard well to take on his role as Chief Instructor at Kenzen.
The synergic effect of Richard and Kraigs’ passion for coaching, karate and self improvement via a high performance mindset means that, for beginner to advanced students learning both traditional and sports karate, Kenzen Sports Karate is the place to come to ‘train hard, get fit, and have fun’
