    Detailed Information

Inside and out, The Royal BC Museum tells the fascinating stories of British Columbia’s human and natural history.  Learn about our province’s First Nations; search for artifacts and treasures in historic Chinatown, on Captain Vancouver’s ship, or in a turn-of-the-century mine; and interact with the wonders of the offshore world at the Ocean Station.

The grounds of the Royal BC Museum are just as interesting as the exhibits.  Visit Helmcken House and St. Ann’s Schoolhouse, two of western Canada’s oldest buildings; have lunch with a collection of totem poles in Thunderbird Park; or stop at Mungo Martin House/Wawadit’la, a First Nations big house.

    The Other Emily

    Redefining Emily Carr

She is known as Canada’s greatest woman artist but how well do we really know Emily Carr?  This exhibition will shake off the stubborn stereotypes that have come to characterize the iconic artist.  For information on Emily-Carr related children’s programs and activities check out the What’s On section of our website.
