Our summer camps are the highest quality sports camps in Victoria. Sportball teaches children mentally and physically, helping them develop socially as well as physically, through a curriculum designed to reinforce self-confidence, free of the pressure of competition. Working with children up to 10 years old in a high-energy, fun-filled curriculum, Sportball provides the basic concepts and skills behind seven popular sports: baseball, basketball, golf, hockey, soccer, tennis and volleyball. Programs are carefully designed to focus on the development of balance, strength, co-ordination, stamina and timing through professional instruction and positive encouragement, using customized equipment. Currently, Sportball in Victoria is owned and operated by Lee Richardson. Lee has been working with young children for more than fifteen years. His love for working with children has led him to complete academic studies in primary education (B.Sc. – Royal Roads University and B. E. – York University). For the past five years Lee worked as a teacher, ski school director and a summer camp supervisor. He also has more than five years experience in working with children with special needs, including two as a therapist for autistic children. Sheldon Phieffer is the program director for the lower mainland; he received a degree in kinesiology from McMaster University in May of 2005. During the past two years, Sheldon has embraced the Sportball methodology and gained an acute understanding of the value of these programs in children’s lives.
