    Detailed Information

The Gulf Islands Film and Television School (GIFTS) is a creative camp that offers 1 and 2 week junior (10-14 yrs), youth (14-18yrs), and adult (19yrs+) media exploration camps. With a “learning by doing” philosophy, students learn how to make a movie in a week, on beautiful & safe Galiano Island, BC. Students are given total artistic control while being mentored in a supportive and fun environment.

Nestled in an old growth forest with 24 hour supervision, there is little distraction for the budding artists/filmmakers. Students create, act, shoot, animate and edit their own short films in small groups. Students can pick the focus they are most interested in including: dramatic video production, acting, game design, YouTube production, computer and classical animation, or more.

GIFTS’ camps are recognized by elementary, middle school and high school teachers, and many schools offer credits for these camps. The on-site catering staff will meet any dietary needs and make delicious home-cooked meals, three times a day. The high staff/student ratio means GIFTS is an excellent choice for students needing special attention.

GIFTS is a great place for students to meet life-long friends, have fun, and explore their creative side while learning the key elements needed to succeed.
