Dance Through the Chakras this Holiday Season
NORTH SAANICH, BC — As winter’s chill begins to settle over Vancouver Island, local Chakra Dancer, Maria Koropecky, is inviting the community to warm their hearts and lift their spirits at Dance of Light, a Chakra Dancing and Meditation class taking place on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the McTavish Academy of Art near Sidney.
“Imagine moving freely through the colours of the rainbow — grounding in red, flowing with orange, shining in yellow, opening your heart in green, expressing in blue, trusting in indigo and glowing in violet light,” says Koropecky.
“Chakra Dancing is a powerful and intuitive way to balance your energy, release stress, and reconnect with your joy.”
Unlike a typical dance class, Chakra Dancing blends free movement, world music, and guided visualization to help participants tune into their body’s natural rhythm. There’s no choreography and no pressure — just an invitation to breathe, move and shine from within.
Following the dancing, guests will be guided through a relaxing meditation, leaving them feeling refreshed, inspired and radiant — a perfect way to head into the holiday season.
Tickets are $25 at the door or $20 Early Bird until November 22nd but there are only 20 spots available. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat, water and crystal bracelets.
“This event is really about light — the light in the room, the light in the music and the light that shines within each of us,” adds Koropecky.
