    Detailed Information

The Puppet Booth is a solo puppet company that has been in Victoria for over 25 years.  Owned and operated by Louise Booth, it offers quality entertainment for children and families in a wide variety of settings. Our motto is “You provide the space and food, we’ll provide the entertainment”.

For birthday parties you get an hour of hassle free entertainment — 30-40 minutes of puppetry followed by hands-on time with the puppets (there are lots for the children to choose from).  The birthday child receives a set of finger puppets and each child at the party gets a kit to take home to make a simple puppet to use to tell stories.
Programs for younger child are tailored to their age, with a variety of stories and songs told with different kinds of puppets.  These are told in an intimate setting without a stage.  Older children can choose a longer puppet show that is presented with a full stage.  These range from funny, to princesses and dragons, to ghosts, and more. See our website for current offerings. All stories are based on folk tales or children’s literature.

Preschools and daycares can choose either the program of stories and songs or a full puppet show of The Three Pigs or one of our Christmas shows.  Play with the puppets is included in the hour’s program if desired.  Kits are an extra option.

Schoolscan book a program for either a few (or even single) classes or for the whole school.  With the stories being literature based, they fit in beautifully with the curriculum, and the experience can be used as part of a Language Arts program with writing and reading other related stories, or an Art program, including creating and performing puppet shows. Shows are suitable for any Elementary student, Special Needs classes, or Out of School groupsIn these times of cutbacks consider using the program as a fundraising activity.

We have also provided entertainment in Malls, Churches, Parks, for Company family parties, Care Homes, Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Mentally challenged of all ages, and for a family party for a 90 year old.  We’ve even performed for families waiting between the Wedding ceremony and the reception, and for a group of 30-somethings sporting tats and piercings!
